There’s a rumor going around that Pinterest is dead. But with close to half a billion active monthly users, that’s hard to believe.

Pinterest is a visual discovery platform where users curate and share inspirational content through ‘pins’ while exploring a wide range of ideas from creators worldwide.

Most Pinterest users are highly engaged, with recent statistics showing that together, they bookmark a whopping 1.5 billion pins per week. Plus, they don’t just passively scroll through their feeds, either. Many Pinterest users utilize the social platform actively to solve problems, find inspiration, and plan projects.

All of this adds up to Pinterest being a great tool for increasing your blog’s visibility, driving traffic to your website, and engaging with motivated users. My own research and experience of running websites confirms this.

In this article, I’ll show you how to use Pinterest to massively boost your blog traffic.

Note: This is a guest post by Steve Wells, the co-founder of Strategy11, the company behind Formidable Forms and WP Tasty. This is an expert column that we publish, where we invite a WordPress expert to share their experiences with our readers.

Is Pinterest Dead? Why It's Still a Traffic Powerhouse for Bloggers

Here’s a list of the topics I’ll cover in this article. Just use the links below to jump to the section you’re most interested in:

1. Create and Optimize a Pinterest Business Profile

If you want to promote your blog content on Pinterest, then the first thing you will need to do is create an account and optimize your Pinterest profile so that it’s visible and discoverable.

Create a Pinterest Business Account

When signing up, make sure you sign up for a free Pinterest Business Account.

This will give you the features you need, like rich pins and analytics. A business account will also give you the option to make your content more visible using paid ads and promoted pins.

Create a Pinterest Business Account

If you already have a personal Pinterest account, then you can easily convert it to a business account using the ‘Convert to business’ option from the drop-down menu in the right corner of your Pinterest profile.

Optimize Your Pinterest Business Profile

Next, you need to optimize your Pinterest profile to make it easier to discover. Make sure you add a suitable profile name and a short description that lets Pinterest users know about your blog.

And make sure you use a professional profile picture and header image. For brand consistency, it’s normally best to use your business logo as your profile picture.

Claim Your Website

Finally, you need to claim your website. This shows that you are the owner of your blog, which gives you more credibility and boosts your content’s visibility.

Claim Your Website on Pinterest

This will let you see how often your content is shared on Pinterest. It also shows people where to find more information about you since your Pinterest profile will be linked to any pins that share content from your site.

For more information, just see this guide on how to verify your WordPress site on Pinterest.

Here’s the Pinterest business profile of one of my clients who gets a lot of traffic from Pinterest.

Their profile picture, header image, and name are on brand and they show a clear and simple description of their blog. Plus, under that, you can also see that they have claimed their website.

Pinterest Business Profile Example

2. Create Attention-Grabbing Pins on Pinterest

Now that you’ve created a Pinterest Business account and profile page, you can start to add content that promotes your blog on Pinterest.

Create Pinterest Boards to Mirror Your Blog’s Main Categories

First, you need to create some Pinterest boards to store your content. You can think of these as corkboards that you pin things to.

I recommend you create a board for each of your main blog categories. This will make it easy to know which board to choose when pinning your posts.

Then, make sure you give them catchy names and use an eye-catching image.

Create Pins With High-Quality Images

Pins are visual bookmarks on Pinterest, like pinning an interesting magazine clipping onto a pinboard. As a blogger or website owner, they are bite-sized pieces of content that link back to your blog posts.

Remember that Pinterest is a very visual platform, so your pins will need to feature high-quality, attention-grabbing images that stand out. Aim for professional, bright, and visually appealing photos or graphics that match your blog’s brand or niche.

You can generate images using AI or image editing software such as Canva or one of its alternatives. You will need to use imaging editing software if you’d like to overlay text.

Pinterest will automatically scale your images to fit their grid. I find that vertical images with a 2:3 aspect ratio perform best, and JPG images less than 20 MB in size are recommended.

Tip: See this WPBeginner cheat sheet of image sizes and aspect ratios for Pinterest and other social platforms.

Creating a Pin on Pinterest

Next, you need to add a title, description, and link. You can use the title and meta description from your post or customize them for Pinterest. Make sure you highlight the blog post’s topic or a key benefit of reading it.

In the next section, I’ll share my favorite tips on how you can optimize your pins for Pinterest SEO to make them more discoverable.

Use Rich Pins to Automatically Pull Metadata From Your Blog Posts

You can save time creating content on Pinterest by using rich pins for articles, recipes, and products. These automatically pull metadata straight from a website URL.

Rich pins help your content stand out and get noticed. The extra metadata can encourage users to visit your website, boosting your traffic.

For example, here’s a recipe rich pin from my client, Pinch of Yum. When you hover your mouse over the image, you will see a button that takes you straight to the recipe on their website.

A Rich Pin Example on Pinterest

To use this Pinterest feature, you need to add Open Graph metadata to your website so that Pinterest and other social media websites can get information about your WordPress posts.

This can become quite technical, so I suggest using All in One SEO, a popular WordPress SEO plugin that can enable Open Graph markup with a simple setting.

Or if you have a cooking blog, then you can also use the Tasty Recipes plugin on your website to easily create recipe rich pins.

3. Optimize Your Pins and Boards for Pinterest SEO

Remember that Pinterest is part social media platform and part search engine. That means it’s important to consider Pinterest SEO when creating your pins.

Optimizing your pins for Pinterest search is very similar to optimizing your posts for search engines like Google. The goal is for your pins to appear near the top of the results when users search Pinterest using related keywords.

Here are my top tips:

  • You’ve already done lots of keyword research when planning your blog content. You can use these same keywords to optimize your pins and boards on Pinterest. Make sure you include those keywords in your pin titles and descriptions.
  • On Pinterest, I strongly recommend including your primary keywords in the first sentence or two of your pin description. Pinterest considers this for search rankings.
  • Better still, use 2-5 relevant hashtags in your pin descriptions. Pinterest hashtags act like keywords and can improve the ranking of your pins. They’re also used when Pinterest decides which content to recommend to users interested in similar topics.

Would you like to see more hints on creating high-ranking pins? I asked my team to put together a post listing the most helpful Pinterest SEO traffic secrets.

4. Consistently Pin and Engage With the Pinterest Community

Boosting traffic with Pinterest is a marathon, not a sprint. It will take patience and consistent effort to see results.

I carefully studied Pinterest traffic to several blogs over a number of years. In my experience, you can expect it to take 6 months or more before you see results.

This means you will need to regularly create high-quality, engaging content on Pinterest and take time to engage with interested users on Pinterest.

Regularly Promote Your Blog Posts on Pinterest

I’m often asked about the ideal frequency of posting on Pinterest. Well, there’s no magic number, but I find that aiming for 5-10 pins per day is a great starting point for maintaining visibility.

This can include links to your own content and re-pinning relevant pins by other users. Make sure you spread the pins out throughout the day, and I don’t recommend pinning the same blog post more than once a week or it can look spammy.

Now, 5-10 pins per day sounds like a lot of work, so many of my clients use tools like Tailwind, an online tool that lets them create pins in batches and schedule them in advance.

Scheduling Pins Using Tailwind

You can also use the Tasty Pins plugin to pin your content straight from your blog.

Like and Comment on Relevant Content From Other Users

You should also regularly engage with Pinterest users who have an interest in your blog’s topic.

These users may be commenting on your pins, so be sure to respond by thanking them for their comments and answering their questions.

You can also find like-minded Pinterest users by searching for pins using the same keywords and tags as yours and then engage with them by liking and commenting on their pins.

Like and Comment on Other User's Pins in Pinterest

Building relationships with these users may encourage them to check out your profile and potentially your blog.

Like retweeting on X (Twitter), you can also repin content from other users when you feel it aligns with your brand and resonates with your followers.

This can build trust and establish you as a credible source of information because you’re not just promoting your own blog or pushing your own agenda.

Participate in Group Boards Relevant to Your Blog Content

Another way to establish yourself as an authority and collaborate with other Pinterest users is by joining or creating group boards around your blog’s niche.

Searching for Relevant Boards on Pinterest

These are shared spaces on Pinterest that can expose your pins to a wider audience interested in the topic. More users seeing your pins means more traffic to your blog.

5. Make Your Blog Content Pinnable to Encourage Sharing

The good news is that you don’t need to do all of the work promoting your blog on Pinterest. To get the maximum exposure, you need to make it easy for your readers to pin your content, too.

The best way to do that is to display a Pinterest button on your images. These appear automatically when you hover your mouse over an image.

A Pinterest Hover Button in WordPress

Pinterest hover buttons drastically simplify the task of pinning your content. Users simply click the button and then choose which board to pin the post to.

You can create these buttons by adding code to your website. However, in my experience, most users find it easier to use a plugin like Tasty Pins.

The plugin doesn’t just add a Pinterest button to each image on your website. It also displays a follow box that invites your website visitors to follow you on Pinterest.

Besides that, Tasty Pins lets you customize the title, description, and style of each pin right from the WordPress editor and use image dimensions that work best with Pinterest.

For more options, you can see the WPBeginner guide on how to add a Pinterest “Pin It” button in WordPress.

6. Track Your Success Using Pinterest’s Analytics Dashboard

You can’t improve what you don’t measure.

Luckily, it’s easy for business users to access Pinterest analytics to track their performance and identify what’s working and what’s not. This will let you adjust your strategy over time to optimize your pins for maximum traffic.

Pinterest Analytics

By carefully studying your Pinterest analytics, you can discover the pins that get the most impressions and clicks and the optimal time of day for maximum pin engagement.

You can then use these insights to boost your blog traffic from Pinterest. For example, if your most successful pins are about a certain topic or niche, then you can focus on creating posts and pins on the same topic.

When it comes to getting more online donations through your WordPress website, I’ve found that it all comes down to a few best practices.

By giving potential donors the information they need and removing potential roadblocks, you can easily raise more money from donations. This can help you keep up with rising costs, expand your reach, and achieve new goals.

Luckily, this is really easy to do by making a few key changes to your WordPress donation forms. And today, I’ll share the most important donation form best practices that I’ve discovered can seriously boost donations in WordPress.

Note: This is a guest post by Thomas Griffin, the president of Charitable and WP Simple Pay, two of the best plugins for accepting donations in WordPress. This is an expert column that we publish where we invite a WordPress expert to share their experiences with our readers.

Donation form best practices to boost donations in WordPress

I will cover quite a few topics in this post. Here’s a handy list so you can jump to the section you are most interested in:

1. Choose a WordPress Plugin Designed for Donations

Because there’s so much involved in optimizing a donation form for conversions, my first piece of advice is to choose a WordPress plugin specifically designed for donations.

This won’t just save you time and effort so you can focus on your mission, but these plugins are also designed from the ground up to optimize conversions and boost your donations.

The best donation plugins integrate with secure payment gateways to protect your donors and gain their trust. They also offer the features you need to use the best practices I will outline below.

For many organizations, WP Simple Pay is an excellent choice. It’s one of the best credit card processing plugins for WordPress, includes user-friendly donation features, and its drag-and-drop form builder offers pre-made templates custom-designed for donation pages.

Other organizations may prefer a dedicated donation and fundraising plugin for WordPress. I recommend Charitable because it includes a lot of different features for collecting donations and creating complete fundraising campaigns.

Using WP Charitable to Create a Donation Form

While there are free versions of these plugins to help you get started, you’ll need the premium tools for features such as recurring donations. As a bonus, you won’t be charged any transaction fees, so you can make the most of the money given.

2. Make the Donation Form Easy to Find

It goes without saying that you won’t get many donations if no one can find your form. Making your donation form visible and discoverable should be your first priority.

You can simply start by adding your donation page to your navigation menu in WordPress. Better still, I recommend adding a button to your nav menu and using a contrasting color that stands out.

Donation Button on the WordPress Navigation Menu

Make sure you use clear button text that can be understood at a glance. Some popular examples include ‘Donate’, ‘Donate Now’, ‘Give Now’, and ‘Support Us’.

You should also include the donation form with other important links in your website’s footer.

At key times of the year, you can make your donation form even more visible using a popup. For example, nonprofits make a huge 25% of their total online donation revenue in December, making it an ideal month for a popup marketing campaign.

Promoting a Donation Page With a Popup

Using a carefully designed popup to promote your donation form at strategic times of the year can boost conversions by 250%.

Before you add a popup to your site, I recommend taking time to read my team’s helpful list of easy tips for nonprofits to boost year-end fundraising with popups.

3. Explain How the Donations Will Make a Difference

Now that a potential donor has landed on your donation page, it’s super important to grab their interest by explaining how their donation will make a difference. Being very specific can reassure potential donors and gain their trust.

Studies show that donors want to know how an organization spends its money before donating, and 63% of millennials research organizations before giving. However, only 4% of donation pages explain how the donations will be used.

The UNICEF donation page does this well. They use a pie chart that illustrates how each dollar is used. This shows that 82 cents go directly to programs, while 13 cents are used to raise awareness, and just 5 cents are used for administration.

Being Transparent About How Donations Are Used

But they don’t just quote figures. They also use compelling storytelling and photography to connect their work with the reader’s emotions and help them visualize the impact of their donation.

Video content allows you to present lots of information without overwhelming your donation page. It can increase conversions by as much as 86% and is easy to consume on mobile devices.

Telling a Story Through Video on a Donation Page

I often remind organizations that a donation page is essentially a specialized landing page and should be optimized like one. It should start with a compelling headline, provide essential information, and end with a clear call to action.

A landing page is a standalone web page created with one focused objective. It leads visitors towards a single action… This is the page’s CTA or call to action.

john turnerJohn Turner – Co-Founder of SeedProd

That’s why I recommend you study John Turner’s expert insights on the anatomy of a high-converting landing page and use these elements on your donation page.

4. Keep the Donation Form Simple

Complex forms can scare users away. If a form looks like it requires a lot of work or asks too many personal questions, then users might be reluctant to complete it.

It’s a good idea to keep the number of fields on your donation form to a minimum. You should only ask for essential information like name, email address, and donation amount, and pre-fill as many fields as possible to make the form easy to complete.

Keep the Donation Form Simple

Some users prefer to give anonymously, so make sure fields that ask for a name or contact details are optional. You can also reassure users by stating on the form that you will not share their personal data with third parties.

If you need help creating a simple and effective donation form, then you can follow this guide on how to create a donation form for nonprofit organizations using WordPress.

When you do need to collect a lot of information, the best practice is to create a multi-page form with a progress bar and ask the easiest questions first. This will help the user start to fill out the form without feeling overwhelmed.

Splitting a Complex Donation Form Into Multiple Steps

5. Allow Donors to Give Securely Using Their Preferred Method

Users who have decided to give money can become frustrated when you don’t offer their preferred payment method. Removing this sort of friction and inconvenience will ensure they don’t have second thoughts about giving to your cause.

Luckily, top donation plugins integrate with secure payment gateways like PayPal and Stripe. This lets you offer multiple payment methods, ensure safe transactions, and build donor trust.

When you clearly display the payment methods you accept, you demonstrate that you value your donors’ preferences and are committed to secure online transactions.

For example, the UNICEF donation page clearly states that all donations are protected by SSL and lists the payment options they accept, including credit card, PayPal, and Google Pay.

Offer Multiple Payment Options for Donations

For maximum flexibility, plugins like Charitable also allow donors to use offline payment methods such as checks, bank transfers, and more.

6. Allow Donors to Choose Preset Donation Amounts

You might be surprised to learn that many first-time donors have difficulty knowing how much they should give. This uncertainty can lead to hesitation or even abandonment where the visitor leaves the page without donating.

Offering a few suggested donation amounts makes the choice easier, allowing users to simply click on an amount on the form. You should also allow donors who know how much they want to give to type in the amount.

Offer Suggested Preset Donation Amounts

It can also be helpful to show the benefits that different-sized donations make.

For example, the Oxfam donation page breaks down what can be achieved with different amounts.

Show What Different Donation Amounts Can Achieve

The World Animal Protection donation form does something similar.

When you click on one of the preset amounts, you see a photo and description of what that amount of money can achieve, such as paying for the monthly vet costs for a bear.

Show What Different Donation Amounts Can Achieve

Preset amounts can also encourage larger donations. The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Florida found their visitor center donations increased 400% when they started suggesting donation amounts.

7. Allow Recurring Donations

Allowing recurring donations on your form can turn a single one-off payment into an ongoing revenue stream. This can provide consistent funding for your long-term projects.

It also makes life easier for donors who want to give on an ongoing basis because any future donations they agree to will be paid automatically.

Let’s look at the math. While the average donation amount for one-time gifts is $121, the average for recurring gifts is just $25 per month. But that $25 is paid multiple times, bringing the average for recurring donations up to $287 each year.

Monthly recurring donations are far more popular than weekly or yearly. Many donation forms keep things simple by offering a one-off donation or ongoing monthly payments.

Examples of Recurring Donations

The donation forms above also highlight that the monthly option makes the biggest impact.

You can find step-by-step instructions on how to implement this in this guide on how to create a recurring donation form in WordPress.

8. Gratefully Acknowledge the Donation

Personalized thank-you messages and confirmation emails make donors feel appreciated. One report found that first-time donors are 80% more likely to give again if you send a personalized acknowledgment.

Both WP Simple Pay and Charitable can easily redirect a user to a thank you page after they make a donation. This is a page where you can express your appreciation and explain the impact the donor’s gift has made.

Redirecting Donors to a Thank You Page

They also allow you to send a thank you email.

In my experience, showing your appreciation like this can quickly turn a one-time donor into a lifetime supporter. You can also take the opportunity to show the donor further ways they can support your organization, such as by volunteering or subscribing to your newsletter.

9. Make It Easy to Share Your Donation Form

One of the best ways a donor can help after giving to your organization is to share your donation form with their friends, family, and co-workers.

This encourages like-minded people in their network to think of making a donation. Plus, studies have found that each share can raise an additional 18% of the gift that was made.

The World Bicycle Relief organization does this by using an effective, multi-pronged approach to encourage donors to share their donation form.

First, you have the option to give the donation in honor of someone else. This allows you to send an e-card or printed card to that person, which may prompt them to match the donation.

Enable Donors to Share Your Donation Form

They also allow you to search for your employer to see if they’ve submitted a policy to match your donation. This could instantly double the donation.

Third, they encourage donors to spread the word by clicking social share buttons.

Finally, at the bottom of the thank you page, they give you a fourth option: fundraising. Donor-driven campaigns are very effective, allowing nonprofits to recruit 300 new donors on average.

Allow Peer-to-Peer Fundraising

For details on how to do this, you can see this guide on how to create peer-to-peer fundraising in WordPress.

Getting people to visit your website’s landing page is just half the battle. Once people are on your site, you’ll want them to actually convert.

In my years of experience building landing pages, I have learned that intelligent landing page optimization makes a real difference. Elements like social proof, videos, and animated headlines can grab user attention, clearly point them to your call to action, and boost conversions.

Today, I’ll share my advanced landing tips that make the biggest impact on landing page conversion rates.

Note: This is a guest post by John Turner, the co-founder of SeedProd, the best landing page builder plugin. This is an expert column that we publish on Thursdays, where we invite a WordPress expert to share their experiences with our readers.

Advanced landing page tips to skyrocket WordPress conversions

I will cover quite a few topics in this post. Here’s a handy list so you can jump to the section you are most interested in:

1. Get a Head Start With Optimized Landing Page Templates

There’s a lot involved in creating a landing page optimized for conversions. You can get a head start by using a template that’s already optimized.

Many of the best WordPress page builder plugins offer pre-made landing page designs. These templates use the best practices in layout and design, saving you time and ensuring your landing page is optimized for conversions from the start.

They include all the essential elements for converting website visitors, such as call-to-action buttons, optin forms, pricing tables, testimonials, countdown timers, and more.

For example, SeedProd offers 350+ pre-built website kits and templates, Thrive Architect has 200+ predesigned layouts, and Beaver Builder has 170+ templates.

You will also want to customize the template to fit your branding and include persuasive copy.

For example, by starting with a SeedProd template, the OptinMonster team was able to build and customize a responsive page that suits their brand and style in just 30 minutes.

OptinMonster's Responsive Landing Page

They incorporated many of the tips we cover below to increase their conversion rate by a massive 340%. They also improved their click-through rate (CTR) by 13.30% while reducing the cost per acquisition (CPA) by 47.20%.

2. Build Credibility Using Social Proof

Imagine you are visiting a landing page for a premium WordPress plugin, and you are not sure if it’s worth the money. Then, suddenly, you see positive testimonials from satisfied customers raving about how easy and effective the app is.

This is social proof, and it can instantly change your perspective. It acts as a positive nudge to increase visitors’ trust and make them more likely to sign up, purchase, or subscribe.

The WPStatistics landing page is a good example of how to leverage social proof. First, it states the number of websites using their plugin as evidence of their credibility.

Social Proof Used on the WPStatistics Landing Page

Next, the landing page reinforces this social proof with more statistics about their plugin’s usage.

The plugin’s total number of downloads, number of active installs, and impressive average star rating are all clearly displayed.

Social Proof Used on the WPStatistics Landing Page

The page also shows multiple testimonials written by customers who are satisfied with the plugin.

These testimonials explain why the reviewers find the plugin helpful, such as its ease of use, GDPR compliance, and useful features. They also display 5-star ratings.

Social Proof Used on the WPStatistics Landing Page

Studies have found that 60% of consumers find user-generated content like this very authentic, which makes them highly convincing. In fact, landing pages with customer reviews or testimonials have conversion rates 67% higher than those without them.

Social proof is a powerful conversion tool because it speaks volumes without you having to say a word. The positive experiences of other users build trust, reduce risk perception, and increase conversions on your landing pages.

Finally, the Imagify landing page takes things one step further by animating the number of users.

Animation can effectively highlight important facts on your landing page. In this case, it gives the sense that the number of users is constantly increasing, which brings us to our next point.

Combining Social Proof With Animation on a Landing Page

3. Grab Attention With Animated Headlines

Animated headlines are another sure way to grab your visitors’ attention. A splash of movement can significantly increase user engagement and get them focused on your offer.

These dynamic text elements make your main message stand out, drawing visitors’ eyes to crucial information and increasing engagement. But make sure you keep the animation subtle – a little goes a long way.

OptinMonster's Animated Headline

The OptinMonster team used Seedprod’s Animated Headline Block to easily animate their heading.

They simply chose the text to animate, selected an animation style, and then adjusted the colors to match their branding.

Creating an Animated Headline With SeedProd

You only have a few seconds to grab your visitors’ attention. In my opinion, animated headlines are some of the most effective ways to grab it fast.

4. Improve User Engagement Using Video

Video content is highly effective on landing pages and can increase conversions by as much as 86%. It allows you to explain your product or service in an engaging way without taking up a lot of space on the page.

That’s why the Jetpack landing page combines social proof with an explainer video explaining why the plugin is so popular and how it works.

Video Content on the Jetpack Landing Page

Embedded video content is easy to add to a landing page and easy to watch on mobile devices.

Also, videos hold your visitors’ attention more effectively than written text. This encourages people to spend more time on your landing page, increasing your chance of conversions.

5. Incentivize Users With Scarcity Marketing

Have you ever procrastinated on a purchase because you weren’t in a hurry? Seeing the words ‘only 2 left in stock’ might be all the motivation you need to make a decision now.

This is scarcity marketing. It uses the limited quantity available to build anxiety and give procrastinating purchasers a strong reason to buy now. Because so many others have purchased the product, it can also increase its perceived value.

Many of my customers effectively use scarcity marketing techniques. Common strategies include notifying buyers of low stock, discounting a price ‘while stocks last’, offering limited edition products, and limiting the number of participants in a competition, webinar, or event.

Amazon uses scarcity marketing to increase conversions, and so can you. Notice in the screenshot below that they use the word ‘only’ to maximize the effect of scarcity. They are letting the customer know that if they don’t buy soon, then it may be too late. That’s hard to ignore!

Amazon's Effective Use of Scarcity Marketing

6. Use Urgency Triggers to Motivate Action

Urgency is another popular way to trigger a sense of anxiety and incentivize users. It motivates users to act now by showing a limited amount of time before an opportunity runs out.

Time constraints like seasonal sales and limited-time deals encourage potential customers to make a decision more quickly.

You can maximize this sense of urgency by displaying a countdown timer on your landing page close to your call to action button. This lets visitors see how long they have left to claim the deal.

This is even more effective when the timer is clearly visible at the top of the landing page and positioned close to the call to action button.

By incorporating urgency triggers ethically and strategically, you can effectively nudge visitors toward conversion and significantly boost your landing page’s success.

For more ideas on how to do this, just see this guide on how to use FOMO on your website to increase conversions.

7. Engage Users by Adding Personalized Elements

I also recommend optimizing your landing page by tailoring its content for each user. Personalized content is more relevant and persuasive, making visitors feel understood and more likely to convert. In fact, it can boost conversions by 42%.

Imagine how much more engaging it can feel when you mention a customer by name, display prices in their currency, use location-specific words and phrases, and even personalize the call to action.

Many landing page builders also integrate with lead capture tools, allowing you to customize the page based on demographics, behavior, and purchase history. This lets you tailor your landing page’s headlines, images, and CTAs to speak directly to users’ needs and desires.

Using Personalization on a Landing Page

This personalized experience makes it more likely that people will engage with the page and take the desired actions, such as buying your product or subscribing to your newsletter.

My team has put together a helpful blog post on how to create personalized landing pages to boost conversions that will let you see what’s possible.

8. Reduce Friction With Multi-Step Forms

A complex landing page creates a psychological barrier. Visitors may feel discouraged or overwhelmed and give up before they complete the call to action.

That’s why I like to use multi-step forms to break down a complex process into smaller, more manageable chunks. This makes it easier for visitors to complete and increases the chances of them converting into leads or customers.

To help the user get started, you should start with questions that are easy to answer, such as basic contact information. You can then ask for additional details in subsequent steps, ending with a strong call to action (CTA).

You can make the form inviting by using a conversational tone so the user feels like they’re directly interacting with your business.

Displaying a completion bar will show the user’s progress through the steps. As they see themselves move closer to the finish, they will feel motivated to complete the remaining steps.

In essence, multi-step forms make the conversion process smoother, less intimidating, and more engaging for visitors, ultimately increasing conversions.

The best WordPress form plugins, like WPForms, let you easily create multi-page forms for your landing page.
